Most iGaming studios start with a market gap. Riddec Games started with a hamster farm on floating islands.
Founded in 2024 as a business unit of Riddec Venture Studio, the Estonia-registered provider (Riddec Estonia OÜ) has spent its first year on the market doing something unusual for a newcomer in one of the most crowded verticals in online gambling: building a recognisable identity before building a catalogue.
It seems to be working. Barely twelve months after going live, Riddec Games has a portfolio spanning slots, crash and casual titles, a distribution network that reaches from aggregators and operators such as BetConstruct, REEVO, Vbet and Leon through to major discovery platforms including SlotCatalog, SlotsCalendar and LCB, and a release calendar booked out to the end of the year.
The studio's recent run speaks for itself. Primal Fury, a fast-paced 3×3 slot set in a prehistoric world ruled by dinosaurs and a sabre-toothed tiger, was named SlotsMate's Game of the Month for August 2026, with the editorial team singling out its distinctive theme and feature-driven design. Days later, the studio put Ultimate KO - a championship-boxing-inspired 3×3 slot - into the ring. Ahead lie Sari-Sari Shop in October, Neo Neko in November and 3 Pots of Pharaoh in December.
Built for operators, not for the trophy cabinet
Riddec Games' commercial proposition is refreshingly unglamorous. Integration in days rather than weeks. RTP configurable across an 80–99% band so operators can tune titles to their own market strategy. Mobile-first builds. Full localisation, all currencies and any language on request. A promo toolkit covering free spins campaigns, tournaments, exclusive games, early access, and branded or custom titles.
"We build games players remember - and operators trust" is the company's stated mission, and its slogan - Big Wins Begin Here - is deliberately pointed in four directions at once: fast integrations and reliable tech for partners, engagement and retention for operators, memorable mechanics for players, and, for the team itself, the idea that a win only counts when all three are winning too.
Every title is built to strict quality and security standards and ships RNG-certified.
The interview
We reached out to Riddec Games to ask how a venture studio side project became a licensed content supplier, what a small team can do that a giant can't, and where AI actually belongs in slot development. The answers were candid - including the one about the frog.
Q: What sparked the idea for Riddec Games - was it one lightning-bolt moment, or did it come together slowly over time?
Riddec Games: Riddec Games is an independent game provider that started operating in 2024 as a business unit of Riddec Venture Studio. Our team was inspired to create this new direction by two facts that were not originally connected at all.
In 2023, as part of Riddec OÜ Venture Studio, we developed a casual game called Hamsterpunk. The game was about managing a hamster farm on floating islands. It was not designed for casinos, but it gave us valuable experience in developing games with a focus on cute graphics, strong game design, sound and art.
That experience later became the foundation for an online casino game provider when we realised the importance of the second fact: Riddec, our parent company, had already been working with operators for many years, even though it had never worked as a game supplier.
That was the spark - the moment when experience from different projects came together and led to the creation of something new. The cute hamster moved from the casual clicker Hamsterpunk into our first game, Hamsterpunk Mines, and then into an entire series of Hamsterpunk Multiwheel slots. Today our gaming universe includes dozens of characters, but the hamster is still both commercially successful and very close to our hearts.
Q: How would you sum up Riddec Games' long-term vision in a sentence - what's the big destination you're building toward?
Riddec Games: To become a provider that partners trust to deliver and players recognise on sight, where the Riddec name on a game stands for professional cooperation on the B2B side and a distinctive, high-quality experience on the B2C side.
Q: Tell us about your frog mascot, the most lovable part of your brand - how did that character come to life?
Riddec Games: This one's our favourite because it's completely organic. Say "Riddec" out loud in English, and it sounds very similar to a frog's croak. That's it. That's the whole origin.
It became a running joke internally, so we actually ran a contest inside our team: who can say "Riddec" most like a frog? We recorded everyone's voices. Imagine - it was ridiculous and genuinely fun, and by the end the frog basically adopted us rather than the other way around.
The low-poly style was a deliberate choice, though. It brings a minimalism with clean lines and sharp edges - nothing excessive, everything intentional. Like origami. And that shows exactly how we see ourselves as a team: professionals, no fluff, all substance. So the mascot carries both sides of us, a playful heart and precise execution.
Q: When a player opens a Riddec Games title for the very first time, what do you want them to feel in those first ten seconds?
Riddec Games: Our philosophy is to create games based on market demand while preserving our own identity - unique characters, excellent graphics, good UI/UX and a high level of stability.
When players open one of our games, we want them to feel that it was created with love, attention to detail, an understanding of gameplay and player needs, and, of course, creativity. We want them to feel comfortable and almost not notice the interface itself. We are focused on quality and on the trust that comes with that quality.
But the real goal is recognition. We want players to open one of our games and understand that it is a Riddec game before they even see the logo - just as you can recognise a film director by their style. That is the kind of recognisable style we are working towards.
Q: Going up against giants in this industry, what's your secret weapon - what does being small and agile let you do that they can't?
Riddec Games: We have only been live for a year, which means we are still a very young provider with ambitions. Our main goal for the near future is to become a game supplier that partners trust, expand our distribution network as much as possible and present our games to the widest possible audience of industry professionals and players. We are building a brand that players will start recognising at first glance, with its own voice, philosophy and identity.
In the B2B segment, we rely on flexibility and speed. We are a relatively small supplier, which means there is no constant back-and-forth between departments and very little bureaucracy. We deliver our part of a partnership quickly and to a high standard, often within days rather than quarters. Large suppliers simply cannot work at this pace.
In the B2C segment, our smaller size allows us to stay closer to the player. We create games based on real player feedback and can immediately apply insights gained from testing with real people instead of putting them through six layers of review.
It also allows us to take creative risks that a giant focused entirely on scale would not take: a universe of hamsters, a Filipino boxing slot, niche themes with real personality. Every game receives proper attention to detail instead of being processed on a production line. Players can feel the difference, even if they cannot always explain exactly what it is.
Q: What can players and partners look forward to from Riddec Games next - any teasers you're able to share?
Riddec Games: We are expanding the Hamsterpunk universe with new games, creating new characters and developing games for specific markets rather than for a broad global audience.
At the moment we are paying particular attention to Southeast Asia. We are launching a higher-volatility line, as well as a new Lucky Bet mechanic for players looking for bigger wins. Stronger slots, more interesting themes, more partners and more markets. That is all for now - you will see the rest when it is released.
Q: Casino games have never really stopped reinventing themselves - from dice and cards, to mechanical reels, to the video slots we play today. Now AI seems to be pushing that evolution into an entirely new gear. Where do you think this journey takes us next, and what part will AI play in shaping that future?
Riddec Games: We believe there is a major shift towards personalisation. Over time, operators will be able to provide every player with a unique experience. They will be able to select games individually for each player based on their gaming history, preferences and actual behaviour, which will be easy to analyse with AI.
In a world overflowing with content, the winners will be studios with a recognisable style and genuine quality. This is why our graphics are created by professional artists. You will not find cheap AI-generated graphics in Riddec slots. AI is a powerful tool in our workflow, but it is only the foundation, not the limit. The human touch is what will survive this flood of content.
Artificial intelligence is changing everything, not only our industry, but its most immediate effect here is speed. Launching a new slot, creating an updated version of a game and generating graphics have all become much easier. As a result, the number of games entering the market has increased dramatically.
Q: One piece of advice for a completely new studio?
Riddec Games: Approach it with a clear understanding of the reality: this is a red ocean. Competition is fierce, and hundreds of providers are already doing the same thing as you.
Before you create anything, answer two questions honestly: how are you different from those hundreds of providers, and exactly who are you building for? If you cannot answer both questions, you are not ready.
A brand with a croak and a plan
There is a version of this story where the frog is just a logo and the hamster is just a character. What makes Riddec Games interesting is that both are load-bearing. The hamster is the thread that connects a 2023 casual clicker to a commercial slot series. The frog is a joke that turned into a design language - low-poly, minimal, deliberate.
Underneath the charm is a fairly disciplined thesis: don't try to out-scale the giants, out-focus them. Ship fast, stay close to the player, pick markets deliberately rather than chasing everyone at once, and keep a human hand on the art in an industry about to be flooded with machine-made content.
Twelve months in, that thesis is producing awards, releases and partners. The next twelve will show whether it produces the thing Riddec Games says it actually wants: a game a player can identify before the logo loads.
