Cocks and Robbers Slot Review

Imagine if animals had hobbies; who knows what they might get up to? In Cocks and Robbers from developer Red Tiger, the livestock have escaped and are looking to live it up human style. Two rapscallions, the Fox and the Wolf, have set up a "mob headquarters" in what was a farm building to shake down the regulars. There are cops-or cocks, as the case may be-but they've been paid to look the other way instead of busting the bad guys. Players can get paid off too if they're lucky, thanks to a symbol-collecting prize-win system. The more animals the villains can shake down, the bigger the prize will be.

The main game action takes place outside the barn. However, instead of sitting in an isolated field in the countryside, Cocks and Robbers features more of a downtown setting, albeit one made of agricultural buildings and rows of crops. This fits the theme perfectly, giving the characters an urbane swagger they might not have picked up in the chicken coop or sty. Get lucky and trigger free spins, and the barn doors open wide to let players in. Inside, a saloon-style environment has been created, with drinks downstairs at the bar and a mysterious upstairs area. Shifting away from a conventional farm setting gives Cocks and Robbers a grittier edge, tinged with humor and oddball characters.

At all times, the symbol action is conducted on a 6-reel grid featuring 3 rows and 729 ways to win. The game provides a stake range of $/€0.10 to $/€500, along with four feature buy options. The RTP clocks in at a solid 96.19% on the highest configuration, while the volatility is remarkably low, earning a 1 out of 5 rating. Despite this low volatility, the game boasts a high hit frequency of 58.78% and an impressive maximum winning potential of 11,481.8x the bet. The paytable includes 10-A royal symbols, followed by five character symbols: the Turkey, Duck, Lamb, Pig, and Bull.

Features in this barn are plentiful, including Wild Foxes, Wild Wolves, the Full House, Barn Spins, Super Spins, and Feature Buys. The Wild Fox and Wild Wolf are central to the game's collection mechanics. Landing on reels 2 through 5, they collect specific animal symbols (Ducks and Turkeys for the Fox; Pigs and Lambs for the Wolf) to award instant cash prizes ranging up to 3,000x for the Fox and a massive 10,000x for the expanding Wild Wolf. Hitting 3 scatters awards 10 Barn Spins with guaranteed Wild Foxes, while 4 scatters unlock the highly lucrative Super Spins, guaranteeing both Fox and Wolf Wilds to maximize collection opportunities.

All in all, Cocks and Robbers combines a humorous theme with features that many gamblers will undoubtedly enjoy. Its strongest appeal stems from the Fox and Wolf collection mechanics and how the base game ramps up into the more exciting free spins features. While the low volatility won't be to everyone's taste and the base game action can sometimes feel a bit slow, players looking for a light-hearted slot with a somewhat evolved symbol collection prize award system might be very tempted to join this barnyard heist.
