A Pennsylvania player's DropZone hit is the largest in the brand's online history, and the fifth-largest online slot jackpot ever paid in the U.S.

On Sunday, Aug. 30, a player in Pennsylvania landed a $4,365,327 jackpot on the Hollywood Casino online app, the biggest slot prize the brand has ever paid out online. The winning spin came on Rome Fight for Gold: The Tiger's Rage, and the prize was paid through DropZone, Hollywood Casino's in-house progressive jackpot network.
The payout comes to roughly 856,000 times the amount wagered. It also earns a spot in the national record books. Only four online slot jackpots in U.S. history have been bigger, and industry rankings mark it as a new high for Pennsylvania.
How DropZone Works
DropZone isn't tied to one game. It runs across a catalog of eligible slots. Joining is optional. Players who opt in pay a small add-on with every spin, and that money builds a shared pool of jackpots. The feature is open to Hollywood Casino customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan and West Virginia.
Pennsylvania has the tightest rules of the four states. The add-on there is fixed at 10 cents per spin, while players in the other states can choose 10, 20, 30 or 40 cents. That likely explains the odd-looking wager: the $5.10 figure appears to be a $5 base spin plus the 10-cent DropZone contribution.
The network pays four prize tiers: Mini, Minor, Major and Grand. They are seeded at $13.75, $500, $10,000 and $25,000, respectively, and each resets after it's won. The winning pot appears to have been growing for months. In early May, industry reports noted that Pennsylvania's DropZone jackpot on the Hollywood Casino app had already passed $2 million.
The pool is fed by opt-in contributions from across the network, so it isn't limited by the game's own payout ceiling. The Tiger's Rage, a gladiator-themed slot built by Foxium and released through Games Global, maxes out at 25,000 times the bet on its own. On a $5 spin, that would be about $125,000. The 5-reel, 40-payline game lists a 96.37% return-to-player rate and medium volatility.
Where It Ranks
Three of the four larger online slot jackpots were paid by DraftKings and one by BetMGM. The biggest was a $22.4 million hit on Huff N' Even More Puff at DraftKings in November 2025.
